Town of Lamèque

The largest of the Acadian Peninsula’s islands, the island of Lamèque is situated between the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and the Chaleur Bay.

Here, you can spend some time at the Ecological Park of the Acadian Peninsula, an animal and plant interpretation and reference centre in which you can observe many species of birds while learning about the flora and particular environment of the Acadian Peninsula. In this enchanting scenery, rich in nuances with its beaches, forests and peat mosses, you will find the picturesque town of Lamèque.

The town vibrates to the rythm of the fishing and peat moss industries, but also to the Lamèque International Baroque Music Festival every year in july.
